Ingrid Michaelson “Be OK” (photage version)
Their song ‘Amazing’ is exactly that. Simple, clear, beautiful and just about the best lyrics you can imagine. They are really beginning to break the US charts with “Song of the Year” at this years FMQB Triple A Conference. The song Kandi, which The Los Angeles Times Magazine calls “beautiful and aspirational”, had sold nearly 150,000 tracks by early August 2010.
Kristian Leontiou their lead singer is from North London and has an amazing personal story so far. If they play in the UK any time soon just go and see them – that’s an order!

A friend of a friend who I heard first heard at a party and then saw him supporting Michelle Schocked last year. He’s a great song-writer, a beautiful man, a true romantic and deserves to be successful.

My next door neighbor – is a great artist of the wool and cloth variety. She makes amazing creatures and scenes from wood and other materials. She also has an eclectic blog site. A real natural.
Growing £500 of food on a patio or Balcony
A great practical and inspirational site by a guy called Mark in South London showing you how to grow lots of food in a tiny space. Almost reached the £500 target so watch it over the next few weeks as the harvest comes in. Did well with marrows (or is it just a really big courgette?) I see……..

Ann has been a scientist and activist for more than 25 years. She was the brains behind the Womens Environmental network campaign for real nappies. This has shifted a huge number of families away from disposables to re-usable. She effectively created a new business sector, with re-usable terry nappy companies in most towns. These days she’s heavily into practical responses to Climate Change as well as Transition Town activities. Check out her web site.

Based in Cardiff and a great company doing honest and creative work on the practical implementation and running of renewable energy systems. Gabriel and Marc the Principals not only design and invent new combustion technology, they assess projects (pre and post) and tell it how it is. They have particular expertise in biomass energy.
I’ve had a couple of recent requests about copies of my book on the Greenhouse Effect written in 1990 with John Ardill a Guardian journalist . At the time it was the first popular paperback on the issue and sold c. 40,000 copies. Out of print but there are lots of good second hand copies still available from Amazon.
